“…choose this day whom you will serve…But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord”- Joshua 24:15
Have you chosen wisely?
Has there even been a time when you received two invitations in the mail for an event taking place at the very same time? Oh what a dilemma!
Now you have to make a choice. “Which one should I attend?” You’ll probably ask yourself. And should there be a price attached to this invitation you may have to consider that as well. You may even decide not to accept either.
After you’ve considered all things, you finally make your choice and send your regrets, declining one host’s invitation. You feel satisfied that you have made the best choice, all things considered.
But have you? You may begin to second guess yourself after you’ve declined the invitation!
As in the case of Mary and Martha (Luke 10:38-42) the one thing that was needed, Mary had chosen. She chose wisely! She chose the good thing – Jesus Christ.
Those in the world have made their choice as well, not only did they declined the Lord’s invitation they outright ignored it.
On the other hand, the believer in Christ has made the choice to accept the best invitation – we chose wisely, to accept the LORD’s invitation of salvation in Jesus Christ which leads to eternal life.
(1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 1 Timothy 1:12 c; Romans 6:23; John 3: 16-17)
Unbelievers have come to believe the lie, that’s why 2 Corinthians 4:3-4, states: 3 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing 4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.
Sadly, those who have chosen to believe the lie of Satan, (2 Thessalonians 2:11-12)…God will send them strong delusions, that they should believe the lie…
The lie, which the Devil has perpetrated on them (Please read: Romans 1:18 – 2:16). Some believe that there’s no God. Others believe that they are predestined (that’s another article) to be condemned to the pit of hell.
My dear friends, I am writing with a heavy heart to let you know that, God has not condemned you to the pit of hell…you have condemned yourselves! You may ask how is that; why would I condemn myself to everlasting torment? That is, if you believe there is a heaven and a hell.
The answer is: You have believed the lie!
The devil is very crafty and he is a deceiver. He makes “sin” look very attractive and he entices through the five human senses (seeing, hearing, speaking, touching and feeling).
You see, hell was made for the Devil and his angels (fallen angels – of which a third fell from the heavenly realm, cast out by God), not the human race (Matthew 25:41; Rev. 20:3; 2 Peter 2:4).
God the Father loves you so very much that, He gave His Son – Jesus Christ to be the Ultimate sacrifice for you and me (John 3:16-17).
6 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 7 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
Dear friends, if you have not yet given your life to the Lord do so while it is still today. For the word of God says – “Behold…now is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2 b). Tomorrow is not promised to anyone.
You have made the conscious choice/decision, to either accept Christ’s free gift of salvation or reject it. So you see, God has not chosen to condemn you to hell – you have! The world’s gifts (Satan is the prince of the power of the air – Ephesians 2: 2 b) have become more attractive to you than that of the Lord. Satan has blinded you to the things of God.
The Lord says in 1 Corinthians 1:27–29: But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; 28 and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, 29 that no flesh should glory in His presence,…
(1 Corinthians 3:19-20) For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their own craftiness”, 20 and again, “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.”
Romans 14:11-12 – For it is written:
11 “As I live, says the LORD Every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall confess to God.” 12 So then each one of us shall give account of himself to God.
Please my dear friends don’t wait until it’s too late! Christ gave Himself unto death for us, even the death of the cross, so that we may be reconciled through Him to God.
Romans 5:6, 8 – 6 For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Today is the day of salvation…you may never get another chance to accept God’s free gift through Jesus Christ. He’s reaching out to you; He loves you and doesn’t want you to perish. Reach out and take His hand, you’ll experience unsurpassed joy which you have never experienced before.
Would you trust Him today? Would you make Him Lord of your life? Just say “yes” to Him. 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Matthew 16:16.
If you have believed the above scriptures you are now a child of God and a member of the Church – the body of Christ (Colossians 1:24).
